Select Model

You know that ageing Suzuki outboard of yours was made sometime in the 1980s but you can't remember when. The fact that it's still running is a testament to the quality and reliability of Suzuki's outboards, but, when it comes to identifying the precise year and model of their motors, Suzuki leave a little to be desired. Annoyingly you won't find the year your Suzuki outboard was manufactured anywhere and you'll have to look further than the outside of the engine cover to find the model number. Without these important bits of information you won't be able to get the Suzuki outboard motor parts that match your engine. But don't worry, here's how you can find both the model number and year...

First locate the identification plate, which is attached to the transom clamp bracket, usually on the right hand side. The plate shows the model number at the top and the prefix and serial number beneath that. So now you have your outboard's model number, but what about the year of manufacture? Take the last digit(s) of the serial number and compare it to the Suzuki Outboard Model Identification chart on this page to determine the year and you should be good to go. With the year and model of your outboard you can now select them on our website to be taken to the OEM Suzuki marine parts page for that exact unit.
